FRAN'S PAGE
This page contains thoughts from my wife Fran's book, Reflections From The Word.  It is designed to provoke us to worship God. The themes are based upon selections from my unpublished volume on Objective Worship which lists over 600 attributes of God, including Scripture portions that manifest these themes.

Following are two sample pages from Fran's book:

Let's worship God, for He is All Powerful (OMNIPOTENT)!

Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high.  - Hebrews 1:3

God manifests His great power to us in creation, government and redemption. In Job 26:7, "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing." It is seen as a great ball supported only by the Almighty God. In Isaiah 40:22 we read, "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants are as grasshoppers; that stetcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in."
The clouds are like curtains as well as vessels to hold the water which waters the earth. We cannot fathom his power in nature.
In world government, he sets up kings and puts them down. Daniel 2:21 states "And he changeth the times and the seasons; he removeth kings and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding."
By his grace he has snatched those of us who believe from the power of Satan and redeemed us unto himself
In your life, how do you know that God is All Powerful?

When God leads through the valley of trouble,
His omnipotent hand we can trace,
For the trials and sorrows He sends us,
Are valuable lessons of Grace. - Anon

INDISPENSABLE

Let’s worship God, for He is Indispensable!

For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hat/i shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us.  – II Cor. 4:6,7

The term indispensable  reveals that God is absolutely necessary in our lives. We all know people we think we cannot get along without, but no one is indispensable except God. The apostle Paul had seen a great light on the Damascus Road. It blinded him. Because of his former life of torturing believers, he now was confronted with Christ. The light revealed his sinful soul, and he was converted. Spiritually, all of us are blind in our sin until the light of the glory of Christ shines within.
An expert pilot in a steamer in Norway came upon dangerous rocks and turns as the great ship crossed the waterways. It was impossible for a buoy to be placed in these areas. The pilot was guided by the lights along the shore. They became his path in the sea. They were indispensable  to the, safety of the ship. The song “Let the Lower Lights be burning”, reminds us of the importance of the lights to warn of danger.
In your life, do you know that God is indispensable?

Brightly beams our Father’s mercy,
                      From His lighthouse ever more,
But to us He gives the keeping,
Of  he lights along the shore.
